About Goat-Milk

ABOUT GOAT-MILK

People have been drinking milk from goats for around 10,000 years and like goat-meat more people drink milk from goats on any one day around the world than cow’s milk or soy milk.

In fact, did you know that milk from goats is the milk of choice in more than a billion households around the world?

Most goat milk is consumed raw or unpasteurized and this is a somewhat controversial subject in many western countries. The controversial subject of raw goat milk is covered as a separate subject.

Other goat products include goat milk ice cream, goat milk yoghurt and of course conversion into literally hundreds of styles of cheese, and where France is the clear leader

The fat globules in goat milk are also some 20% the size of cow milk and so are far more easily digested, Goat milk is ideal for those on restricted diets where fatty dairy foods are limited. For the elderly goats milk is perfect for digestion. For people with a lactose intolerance or sensitivity to cow milk, the milk from a goat is often the commonly used alternative Useful Resources
