Pam Carter UK Past President of Britsh Goat Society.

by David Will
(UK)

Pam Carter, past President of the British Goat Society, long time licenced Judge, breeder and exhibitor of many good goats, British Goat Society Committee member and principal Steward at many shows including the Royal Show, died overnight on the 5th/6th July 2010.

Pam was 82 years old and had been married to Arthur for 58 years until his death 16 months ago. Pam had been unwell for many months before Arthur’s death and appeared to lose the will to live when he died. She had had several periods in hospital and was due to leave but sadly died there.

Pam’s funeral will take place at Gorleston Crematorium, Oriel Avenue, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR31 7JJ on 15th July 2010 at 4.00 p.m. Her request was that there should be no flowers or donations. Pam’s family have arranged an informal get together at the Kings Head in Beccles after the funeral.

Richard Wood has asked that I write an obituary for Pam to be published in the monthly journal and on the British Goat Society website and I would welcome contributions from members who have recollections of Pam. I would like the obituary to be a celebration of sixty years plus of goat keeping and goat administration. Pam was an exceptional person who will be sorely missed.
