Police say it took some unusual 'ne-goat-iations' to deal with a call-out at Port Augusta in South Australia.

A patrol was called at the weekend to deal with a goat named Sandra which had managed to climb onto the roof of a house in Crichton Drive.

Police say there was no time for kidding around as they tried a couple of different varieties of grass to entice the goat from her rooftop view.

Officers used a makeshift ramp and a lasso made from clothes line to secure the wayward goat and return the animal to the owner's yard
