My advice you shouldn't breed a doe before she is 9 months old and weigh 100 lbs.
I myself believe that you shouldn't breed a first time Doe before she a yearling, and this way she would be around 15 to 16 months old before kidding. giving her a body frame where kidding will be easy and at this age she will produce a better frame and stronger kid.

Breeding a young doe by: Linda
I just bought a 75% boer buck(4 mo) and a 75% Boer doe. The buck is huge already at 4-1/2 months, but the doe is more petite(about 45 lbs or so) and am wondering if I can breed her this Fall. I am new at this and want to do it right. I already have 4 sheep--2 Suffolk ewes and a California Red 3 year old ewe and a 7 month old Ram so I understand the livestock breeding thing, but want to do right by the goats. Incidentally, we love them--they are so friendly. Appreciate any advice.
