Goat Shortages in India

Over in Mumbai many muslims had to go without sacrificing a goat on Bakri Eid due possible backlash from animal welfare activists. The Deonar slaughterhouse has been forced to turn away many prospective customers as traders had not supplied the abattoir with enough animals.

Many activists along with police had stepped up patrols all over the city and detained over 10 trucks carrying animals. After that, many suppliers stopped sending trucks.
